Designee: Margaret Cook
Margaret Cook is the director of the Department of Environmental Quality
for the Gila River Indian Community. Margaret, a Cree from Canada, has
been on the NTEC board for 17 years now, since 1993. She was the first
member of her family and her tribe to graduate from college. She originally
hails from Yellow Knife in the Northwest Territories, Canada. She has one
daughter, and one grandson, Tyler Tallbear, who, as Margaret puts it, is the
light of her life.
