The NTEC Committees

The NTEC committees provide leadership and guidance to the NTEC staff on specific NTEC goals and initiatives. NTEC committee members meet quarterly and on an as-needed basis via teleconference to receive updates on current projects and discuss plans for the future initiatives.

Planning and Program

Committee Chair: Chairwoman Elaine Patterson, Cortina Indian Rancheria

The Planning and Program Committee oversees the planning of the national conference, including selection of national speakers, current or relative topics, workshops, and roundtables. The committee also oversees outreach to membership, partnerships, program development and implementation of new projects.

The roles and responsibilities of the Membership and Nominations Standing Committee are to oversee the elections process and recruit candidates for opening positions on the board or committees. It also oversees membership dues, expenditures, recruits new members, and reviews services and benefits.

Government Relations

The role of the Government Relations Committee is to oversee public policy initiatives in three main areas, Congressional, Administration, Court strategies and priorities. It also oversees outreach to membership, partners, stakeholders and assures the participation of tribes and tribal delegates.

Finance and Fundraising

Committee Chair: Brenda Robertson, Gila River Indian Community

The roles and responsibilities of the Finance and Fundraising Committee are to oversee fundraising, endowment management, and financial planning for the organization, special programs, and stragetic initiatives.
